This beloved Mac-only app is finally coming to Windows

The hugely popular (and expensive) calendar app Fantastical has released a Windows version of its app, finally taking it out of the Apple ecosystem exclusively, 13 years after its initial release.

This calendar has been rebuilt as a native Windows app with all the features included on Mac, but there’s still no Arm native version for Copilot+ PC owners.

According to The Verge, Arm native apps are coming soon, but Windows users on Arm will have to use an emulator for now. Still, it’s a reason to celebrate when the best Mac apps join the ranks of the best Windows apps.

Developer Flexibits first launched Fantastical in 2011, and it’s available on all Apple platforms, including Vision Pro. However, despite pleas from users, its creators showed no interest in moving to Windows over the years.

A fantastic calendar app.
fantastic

Now that the company has changed its mind about Windows, the question is whether it will do the same for Android. It’s a bit of an oversight not to do so, since many Windows PC users are also Android smartphone owners, and it’s probably not worth the $7/month price tag for a calendar app that can’t send notifications to your phone or wearable.

Windows users can use the free version for now to see what they think, but Flexibits probably shouldn’t expect many paid subscribers until it offers support for Android phones and wearables. One of the most popular aspects of this calendar is its natural language processing capabilities. This feature allows you to create an event by simply writing a prompt for what to do and when. The app’s design is also well-received, with multiple views, widgets, and color themes to choose from.
