The great Mac-only calendar app is now available to Windows users

Productivity tools are rapidly evolving, and new organizational apps are being released all the time. However, access often depends on having a compatible operating system. In an effort to level the playing field, the popular calendar app, which has been exclusive to Apple products for the past 13 years, is now open to Windows users.

Fantastical expands to Windows

Today, the software company behind Fantastical announced that its previously Mac-only calendar app will now be available on Windows. This means that if you use a Windows PC, you can access the same features that Mac users have been excited about for over a decade.

Fantastical is a free app, but some features, such as certain scheduling tools and syncing features, require a premium subscription. Premium subscriptions cost $4.75 per month for individuals and $7.50 per month for family plans. Subscriptions are billed annually and there doesn’t seem to be a monthly option.

A premium subscription also gives you access to Cardhop, Flexibits’ contact management app.

A blog announcement from Flexibits includes the following instructions on how to set up Fantastical on Windows.

Get the Windows app and sign in to your existing Flexibits account in the Windows app by selecting the menu button in the top left corner of the app.
File > Settings > Flexibits Account
.

What’s all the fuss about Fantastic?

After 13 years of thriving productivity software, there has to be something to it. Among other things, Fantastical is known for its ability to integrate multiple calendar accounts into one app. For example, Fantastical can support Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and iCloud calendars. This is especially useful if you use multiple platforms between different work and personal lives.

Fantastical has many features that make it popular, including:

  • Fantastical parses natural language and automatically adds event locations, times, and invitees based on casually written sentences like “3 o’clock design review meeting with Lauren at Granny Smith Cafe.”
  • a task This feature allows you to wrangle action items from Fantastical and third-party to-do lists you already use, such as Google Tasks, Todoist, and Microsoft 365 Tasks.
  • Fun features such as funny calendar Schedule management will be more fun. For example, you can use Interesting Calendar to subscribe to externally created calendars, such as the Los Angeles Dodgers game schedule.

fantastic

This calendar app is compatible with all Apple products, offering support for Mac, iPhone, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro, but we hope this app extends beyond Windows PCs to include Android devices, for example, on your post-Mac journey. It is unclear whether it will continue.

Fantastical’s expansion to Windows makes sense, especially for brands that value seamless integration. An application that has the ability to integrate calendars from multiple platforms must itself be available on multiple operating systems. Anyone who uses one OS at home and another at work can rejoice.
