Samsung announced the Galaxy A16 5G a few weeks ago, but there was no mention of a 4G version. It’s now official, too, as Samsung France has posted a press release calling the Galaxy A16 and Galaxy A16 5G “superior smartphones.” “The test of time.” This is because both models are supported for 6 years. This includes OS updates and security patches.
The Samsung Galaxy A16 (4G) is almost identical to its 5G sibling. A 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display running at 90Hz, a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging, a 50+5+2MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera are all included. The slim 7.9mm body has an IP54 dust and water resistance rating (the two A15 phones are 8.4mm thick and have no IP rating). IP rating is the first of its kind in this category. There was no official rating for A1x or even A2x, and for that you had to go up to A3x.

Samsung Galaxy A16 4G uses the same chipset Mediatek Helio G99 as the previous generation A15 4G.
The Galaxy A16 4G has the same 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with a microSD slot that can hold up to 1TB of cards. There’s no mention of a 3.5mm headphone jack, so we don’t expect it to return.
Press releases ignore something else: price. Judging by the A15 and A15 5G, we can expect a discount of around 50 euros on the 4G model.
What it says is that the Samsung Galaxy A16 4G will be available in November (note: this is for France, but it should be available across Europe). The phone comes in gray, green, and blue colors.
