The iPhone 16 is finally here, and rumors regarding Apple’s next iPhone series are steadily pouring in. Apple hasn’t updated the iPhone SE series since 2022, but 2025 could be the year the new iPhone SE 4 arrives. A new leak from Apple tipster Sonny Dixon reveals what updates Apple has in mind. Camera control buttons and action buttons that are found on the best iPhones could be introduced.
Last weekend, Dixon shared a photo with X of what appears to be a case for the iPhone SE 4, which is scheduled to be released next spring. While the device itself isn’t shown, it does offer some hints about what to expect from Apple’s next-generation budget smartphone.
The case’s back panel is flat, and the cutout for the rear camera appears to be slightly larger than the one on the iPhone SE 3, suggesting that the iPhone SE 4 may have two cameras, a first for the series. The iPhone SE 4 is already expected to take design cues from the iPhone 14, as it will be the first of Apple’s low-cost “special edition” iPhones to omit Face ID and Touch ID in the notch. There is a possibility of getting a new page from. Then add an ultra-wide camera to that array.
Previously, it was hinted that the iPhone SE 4 would feature the action button that debuted on last year’s iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max and will be featured on all iPhone 16 models this year. A bit disappointingly, the iPhone SE 4’s case only has a cutout for the mute switch, replaced by an action button. There’s also no cutout for the new camera control button introduced with the iPhone 16 series. This is a recessed tactile switch that makes it easy to instantly take photos and record videos.
That being said, there’s still a lot to be excited about with iPhone SE 4. Rumor has it that the budget phone will have 8GB of RAM and Apple’s A18 chip, which will enable it to take advantage of Apple Intelligence, Apple’s suite of AI-powered features. Bloomberg’s Mark Garman also suggests that the iPhone SE 4 is very likely to include Apple Intelligence. We’ve seen support for AI features in budget smartphones before, such as Google’s Pixel 8a, but bringing a suite of AI features to its most affordable devices remains an important move for Apple. It will be. The iPhone SE 4 will replace the aging LCD screen with a shiny new 6.1-inch OLED display, and may also replace Apple’s own USB-C port.
However, this budget phone may come at a higher price. iPhone SE 3 launched in 2022 for $429, but with new technology and the addition of Apple Intelligence, iPhone SE 4 is expected to be around $500. Considering the iPhone 16’s starting price of $899, it will still solidify its position as a budget phone.
Of course, all this remains speculation at this point. The iPhone SE 4 rumor cycle is still in its early stages, so we can expect more leaks to come as we get closer to the expected spring release.
