Rocket Raccoon asked Bug to join the group after it was disbanded due to internal conflict. A master thief, a maverick operative, and a joker by nature, Bugs proved a valuable ally in the Guardians’ efforts to quell the escalating Theer-Kree interstellar conflict. Bugs have exceptional eyesight and peripheral vision, and can cling to walls with extraordinary agility. His antenna also enhances situational awareness. The first appearance Micronote #1he was initially known as Galactic Warrior, named after a toy-based character owned and licensed by Takara Corporation.

Director Gunn confirmed that Bugs was chosen as a candidate to join the Guardians in the first film.. In a 2014 interview with Wired, he said: The character was included in an early draft of the script.. However, Bug only appeared briefly in the film. ”In one of the drafts there was a character called Bugs who was killed in prison and I thought that was stupid” he recalled. He mentioned the initial lineup of Guardians members and admitted that Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot were his favorites. “From the beginning, we had enough other characters in the script, like Ronan, Nebula, and Yondu. For me, I just love Nebula and Yondu, so it was fun to add them.”
