It’s been a month since Apple released the iPhone 16, and the company has started the manufacturing process to make the regular iPhone 17 in India. This is the first time Cupertino has started new iPhone production outside of China.
According to informationApple wants to reduce its dependence on China to avoid possible supply constraints like the iPhone 14 launched a few years ago. The report revealed:
“Apple is using an Indian factory for the first time to do initial manufacturing work on the base model of next year’s iPhone 17, according to two people with direct knowledge of the situation. The choice to figure out how to turn prototypes designed in Cupertino into production-ready devices highlights the progress Apple has made in diversifying its supply chain from China to India. I am confident in the abilities of Indian engineers.”
During this early manufacturing phase, Apple tweaked the iPhone’s design and experimented with new materials and equipment, allowing it to produce “millions of iPhones a day in a variety of locations with minimal defects. ” must be guaranteed.
The switch is important for Apple, which remains heavily dependent on China. The next iPhone 17 Pro model and rumored iPhone 17 Air/Slim will still be ideal models in this country. If India can replicate the manufacturing expertise seen in China, it could mean Apple could expand production there in the near future.
Rumors so far suggest that Cupertino is expected to launch a regular model and two pro versions. What’s even more interesting is that the Plus version will be replaced by a new Air/Slim model, which will feature a single camera, an ultra-slim design, and Apple’s new A19 chip.
