What do Android and iPhone owners do with their old smartphones? | Image credit – CIRP

CIRP previously reported that 33% of iPhone buyers have owned their phone for more than three years, while only 21% of Android owners have kept their new device for more than three years. revealed that Apple smartphones are still selling at high prices even after a long period of ownership. It costs more than an Android smartphone.

A new study from CIRP has found that more iPhone owners than Android owners turn their used smartphones into cash. 41 percent of iOS users trade in their old devices, and less than 20 percent get rid of them (recycle or donate them, or end up breaking or having them stolen).

In contrast, only 17 percent of Android users sell or trade in their old device, and 30 percent retire their old device.

The majority of Android owners (53%) give their device to a friend or family member or keep it as a backup. Only 40% of iPhone owners do the same.

CIRP is android mobile phonewhich is why most owners prefer other options. iPhones, on the other hand, sell for much better prices even after years of use, which is why most of them don’t end up in the hands of friends and family.

So iPhone owners don’t have to upgrade their devices as often as Android users, but they can still benefit from upgrading. But hey, Android users strengthen their bond by gifting their old devices to their loved ones.
