Important points

  • Samsung’s One UI 7 update, based on Android 15, won’t arrive until 2025.
  • A new video details the update’s lock screen changes, notifications, and more.
  • There’s also new widget customization and an improved quick settings panel.

For those who don’t know, Samsung’s One UI 7, based on Android 15, has been delayed. In fact, it won’t even debut this year, instead arriving in 2025. So, as you can imagine, Samsung device owners and fans alike want to experience this update as much as possible.

Rumors suggest quite a bit of influence from the iPhone.

Luckily, we’ve seen a steady stream of videos that give you a good idea of what to expect, including an updated icon, camera app, and changes to the app drawer. A new video by Mobile Wala Bhai gives us a first closer look at the changes made to the lock screen, notifications, Samsung’s task changer, and more (via Android Authority).

Considering further changes

We know that Samsung has been very proactive about the appearance of these videos and has been successful in removing many of them. However, it looks like the mobile Wala Bai videos are still alive and well. For now, you can watch the video above, but just to be sure, we’ve included screenshots of the important parts as part of this article’s gallery.

One of the first things you’ll probably notice is that the lock screen has changed, with a revamped bottom area of the screen that now displays the name of your device in a pill-shaped section and two shortcuts on either side of it. is. . Users can also further customize their lock screen with new frame and color options. Most of the time this is superficial, but it makes a big difference, especially if you’ve been used to seeing the same thing for years.

The YouTube channel also features a variety of widgets with a cleaner look, including weather and battery. These widgets seem to work very smoothly as well, and pressing them will instantly jump the user into the corresponding app. There are also options to set up custom interactions with the widget, including custom camera settings that you can create for the widget. This gives you easy access to settings that you use frequently but don’t want to be part of the main camera app.

There are also changes to the previously talked about notification panel and quick settings panel. It seems possible to split things up, but users will still have the option to use the current menu system. So if you’re concerned about this change, you can use either option. Changes have also been made to the notifications you see here, and they now take the shape of a pill, which blends in better with the new look and feel.

Users will also have the option to further customize their quick settings panel. Overall, One UI 7 looks pretty smooth for the most part, as you can see in this latest video. If you’ve been with Samsung for a while, these changes will be very exciting. The only catch here is that this update won’t be available to the public until well into 2025.

Of course, as with previous Android releases, Samsung is expected to roll out some kind of beta version before the rollout, which could happen later this year. However, depending on the situation, we will announce more information about One UI 7, so stay tuned.
