Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company and other fire departments arrived and found several vehicles on fire. The State Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire started in one vehicle and then spread to 13 other vehicles, causing damage ranging from mild to severe.
No one was injured and an initial examination found no signs of criminal activity, authorities said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The annual festival, now in its 32nd year, is held Friday and Saturday and typically draws thousands of visitors to the western Sussex County town. Local products are on display, including apples from TS Smith and Sons Farm and scraps from the town’s RAPA scrapple factory, which has been producing breakfast meat since 1926.
