Apple Visual Intelligence helped me get out of the corn maze. I’ll explain what happened.

For many, touring the corn maze at Shadybrook Farm in Yardley, Pennsylvania is a highlight of fall. The five-acre maze is different each year, but it’s challenging and exciting, making it a must-see event for all ages.

Since I use Apple Maps while driving, I thought why not test Siri to help guide me out of mazes. My family and I knew we’d be venturing into acres of trails, surrounded by towering corn stalks, and facing dead ends at every turn, but Apple Visual Intelligence was up to the task. Will it be possible?

For many people, getting lost is part of the fun, but not for me. That’s why the idea of using Apple Intelligence as a virtual “maze buddy” felt like a great option.

Ask Siri for instructions

The corn maze is different every year, so we don’t want to spoil the fun of this year’s design for the community. Instead, we’ll use last year’s maze to share how Siri, with the help of ChatGPT, can provide tips for navigating the maze, from general help to more detailed instructions.

First, they uploaded an aerial photo of the maze from the farm’s Instagram page and had Siri analyze it. Initially, the AI struggled because there was no clear exit (that’s what I’m saying!), but once I shared the entry and exit details, Siri was ready to tackle the maze without any problems.

Some might say I’m out of the loop, but this kind of real-time assistance makes experiences like this even more enjoyable, especially for people who would have probably opted out otherwise. It has become. Frankly, if it were socially acceptable, I would get through a haunted house faster using earphones and this technique. I don’t like getting lost. For me, the use of AI didn’t take away the thrill of solving a maze, but instead guided me in the right direction.

final stretch

There was a great feeling of satisfaction when I reached the end of the maze. I managed to get through some of the most difficult sections of the maze, using Apple Visual Intelligence as a guide at key points and feeling the rush of exploration.

This experience was not without its challenges. The aerial photo wasn’t completely clear at first, so Siri opened Location Services as if I were walking to the actual location.

Additionally, the first few attempts at directions were too generic, as the AI was making suggestions about the corn maze. I had to ask Siri several times to focus on images and give me directions.

A new kind of adventure

As I left the store, I couldn’t help but think about how AI has become so useful. Even on a family farm in Pennsylvania.

At Tom’s Guide, our expert editors are committed to bringing you the best news, reviews and guides to help you stay informed and ahead of the curve.

Just for fun and a little more experimentation with Apple Visual Intelligence, I tried out a simpler maze and word search in one of my daughter’s coloring books to see if Siri could guide me. I was not disappointed!

Using Apple Intelligence An innovative twist on a classic fall experience. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned maze explorer, having AI as your partner will make even the craziest paths feel a little less scary. All you need is an aerial view of the maze and Apple Intelligence does the rest.
