Apple Intelligence will be released on supported devices later this month. However, only certain AI features will be available in iOS 18.1. Some of the most anticipated features won’t arrive until a future update. Here are all the features coming to Apple Intelligence starting with iOS 18.2:
Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18.2 and later
Apple has announced a variety of AI enhancements that will be released over the next six months or so. Here’s what’s coming:
- source character: Create your own custom emoji with a short description.
- ChatGPT integration: Receive ChatGPT Smart through Siri or our new AI writing tool.
- image playground: A powerful tool to generate original images in a variety of fun styles.
- Siri and personal context: Make a request to see personal data, such as meetings you’ve attended or book recommendations you’ve received.
- visual intelligence: Use iPhone 16’s camera controls to identify real-world objects and get important information.
- Email inbox categories: Mail automatically sorts messages into several different categories based on their content.
- Siri’s new actions: Hundreds of new in-app and inter-app actions are enabled for Siri.
- Siri on-screen recognition: See the information on your screen so Siri can act on it.
- image wand: Use your finger with Apple Pencil or Notes to generate images based on existing content.
More languages in development
In iOS 18.1, Apple Intelligence is only supported in US English. However, iOS 18.2 supports localized English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. And in 2025, a range of new languages will be supported.

Some users may be disappointed to find out that the most anticipated Apple Intelligence feature is not available in iOS 18.1. Fortunately, Apple plans to quickly roll out the above features. There should be new AI drops every few months. It’s even faster if you run beta software.
