The constant evolution of YouTube on Android TV continues unabated with a “slight” update to the “Who’s Watching” account switcher launch screen.

According to Android Authority, YouTube on Android TV has a new “Who’s Watching” opening screen that displays an account switcher or selector similar to the experience seen on streaming services like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and BBC iPlayer. Masu. .

As initial reports suggest, when you launch YouTube for Android TV on your Nvidia Shield TV Pro or other hardware, you may find that you’re signed out. You’ll be asked to sign back, but you’ll see a short message that says, “Who’s watching?” The launch page launches with color added to the background.

From here, simply scan the QR code and link it to your existing account. If you close YouTube, return to the Android TV home screen, and reopen the app, you may see a new Who’s Watching? Access the account switching UI page again. However, despite following these same steps, we were not able to fully reproduce this on our own test hardware.

Note that the layout here may look familiar. The account switching UI itself is technically This comes from the in-app account switcher, which you can access by tapping your profile icon in the YouTube app. Still, reusing this section is a good idea that will definitely improve households where multiple users have access to one Android TV system or TV set.

If, like me, you have a system that only one person can access, it can be a little more annoying. Have you updated Who’s Watching? Does it open the start page when you use YouTube on your Android TV box? Let us know in the comments section below.
