A little reference information related to sports. Apple is Shohei Otani. do not have Properly promote their programs.
Apple is one of the top 10 largest companies in the world. But when it comes to making sure no one watches your streaming platform…
As of September, Apple TV+ is not even one of the top 10 (TEN!!!) streaming platforms, according to Nielsen. It sits behind Pluto TV, Paramount+, Roku Channel, and Tubi. This streaming platform lags far behind all its competitors despite a ridiculous list of great shows such as TED LASSO, PACHINKO, SEVERANCE, SHRINKING, FOR ALL MANKIND, BAD MONKEY, to name a few. I am. And yet, outside of TED LASSO (and that shitty morning show that cost $50 billion to make), you don’t hear much about these shows, save for a few pop culture moments on SEVERANCE.
That’s the main issue. You should watch SLOW HORSES. This is a great British spy drama that everyone can enjoy, but not enough people watch it.
Jiffy image.
The show somehow has four seasons and has garnered over 20 nominations for Emmys, Golden Globes, British Academy Television Awards, and other awards. Fortunately, with the latest season 4, it looks like the show is gaining momentum as the cultural zeitgeist finally picks up a bit.
One way to know this? I just noticed the hype this past September! Of course, I had heard about SLOW HORSES, but after all the hype at the recent Emmy Awards, I thought I’d give it a try…and I decided to join and watch all four seasons for just one month. I watched it.
Instead of a long, eloquent show breakdown for aspiring poets, let me list the reasons why you should watch SLOW HORSES.
- A genre that perfectly combines both a great spy mystery and a dark comedy.
- You’ll laugh and try to piece together the story.
- Comedy elements are top class and sometimes downright dark
- No spy elements including action
- There are also action works that make you think, “This is it!” sometimes
- Each season’s story feels epic and incredibly interesting
- It pulls you in perfectly every time from the jump.
- This is not your typical spy story. They are empathetic human spies.
- It feels fresh and different, but it also shows what you’re looking for in the genre.
- Everyone loves James Bond, but the spy in SLOW HORSES feels more human
- Each has its own problems and is perfectly fleshed out.
- The cast is truly dynamite from top to bottom
- Gary Oldman does his usual thing as one of the leads.
- Jack Lowden is the star of the show in my eyes.
- Every actor destroys their role. you will like all the characters
- Everything involved in the story is earned and has real stakes
- They don’t waste an episode. never get bored
- At no point did I think, “This is a filler episode!”
- A lot of shows these days feel bloated, but this one isn’t
- You never feel safe at any point in this series
- It wants you to invest and it gives you a good reason to invest.
- The show looks and sounds great
- A lot of shows these days look fake or overly glossy
- SLOW HORSES are gritty, lived-in, and look great.
- The environment is well connected to the story.
- Wait times between seasons are crazy short
- Season 4 just ended, but Season 5 could be released in the summer
- At the end of each season, a trailer for the next season is shown.
- 2020’s shows can have several years between seasons
- SLOW HORSES just keeps getting better!
- I call this “pulling VEEP”
- I think it’s improved since season 1.
I could go on and on, but I’ll end by re-emphasizing one of the points above. This is a perfect blend of both the spy and drama genres and is at the very best level of both. . It has the spy-and-action quality of Bones and Bones, as well as the humor of dark comedies like In Bruges and Coen Brothers projects.
So, join right in and give SLOW HORSES a chance, catch up on the just-ended season 4, and get ready for season 5. Because, unlike House of the Dragon, Stranger Things, or any other blockbuster show, the next season is already pretty much done and almost done.
