You can now add your Iowa driver’s license to Apple Wallet
Iowans can now securely add their Iowa driver’s license, or ID, to Apple Wallet, the Iowa Department of Transportation announced Wednesday. The app will allow iPhone and Apple Watch users to use Apple Wallet to present identification at TSA checkpoints and other businesses and venues, KCRG reports. Businesses can now securely scan Apple Wallet IDs to verify a user’s age using iOS apps such as Tap2iD Mobile, VeriScan, and Mobile ID Verify. To add a license to your Apple Wallet, tap the Add (+) button. Next, select “Driver’s License or State ID” at the top of the iPhone app screen and follow the onscreen instructions. When an ID is added to the app, the information is encrypted on the device. “When you add an ID to Apple Wallet, the Iowa Department of Transportation said in a release, the information it needs to approve or deny the request.
