The new MagSafe charger may look the same as the old one, but under the hood Apple has made some upgrades. New support for the Qi2 wireless charging standard supports wireless fast charging speeds of up to 25 watts when combined with a 30 watt or higher charger. Please note that a charging brick is not included and you will need to provide your own.
When not powering your iPhone, this MagSafe charger can also be used to refill your AirPods’ battery as long as they have a wireless charging case, but unfortunately the speed is still not as fast as its predecessor. It tops out at the same 5 watts.
