What is Prime Day?
Amazon’s October Prime Day event was officially called Prime Big Deal Days. The shopping extravaganza essentially served as the second Amazon Prime Day event ahead of the holiday season. If you’ve never shopped during a Prime Day sale before, you might be wondering what exactly that means. Therefore, we will briefly explain it here. This is a 2-day Amazon sale with limited time offers, flash sales, and discounts exclusive to Amazon Prime subscribers at the lowest prices. It’s usually worth shopping around, as it’s rare to get Black Friday-level prices outside of November.
When is Amazon’s October 2024 Prime Day event?
Amazon’s Prime Day event has begun Runs from Tuesday, October 8th to Wednesday, October 9th at 11:59pm PT. So, even though the event is officially over, there are still plenty of sales going on on Amazon.
How does Prime Day in October compare to Prime Day in July?
There are many similarities between the two sales. The October sale brings back many of the same deals, especially on Amazon’s own devices like Blink and Ring home security devices, Fire TV and tablets, and Echo devices.
The main difference relates to the timing of the sale. Prime Day in July is summer, so back-to-school and outdoor sales are in the spotlight. This includes school supplies, grills, lawn mowers, and more. Prime Day in October brings even more deals for the upcoming holiday season, including kitchen supplies for Thanksgiving meals and children’s toys and games for Christmas.
How does Prime Day work?
The idea behind this sale is very simple. For a limited time, subscribers to Amazon’s Prime service receive exclusive discounts on thousands of products and services across the site. These products will still be available to non-Prime members, but there will be special discounts for members, with many prices dropping to all-time lows.
When you log into your Prime account and look at the product’s landing page, you’ll see the discounted price if it’s on sale. Usually you don’t need a special coupon code. You also don’t have to use a specific payment method to receive the discount. If you spend your money wisely each year, you can easily save and earn back your Prime membership fees during events.
