Walkabout Mini Golf is climbing the Apple App Store sales charts.
One of VR’s best games, Pocket Edition competes with Minecraft, Stardew Valley, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as a paid product on the Apple App Store. As of this writing, Mighty Coconut’s $4.99 game sits at No. 16 on the US iPhone paid games top chart, just ahead of Terraria, about 12 hours after its worldwide release. According to unconfirmed reports online, the game appears to be nearing the top of the list in some countries.
While we’ve seen free apps like Rec Room achieve large install bases outside of VR, Walkabout Mini Golf features a private room for multiplayer that connects to all major VR headsets. It could be one of the first paid apps to make the leap from VR to the iPhone. .
“This is 100% player-driven,” Mighty Coconut’s head of communications David Wyatt told UploadVR. “There are no ads.”
For those unfamiliar, Walkabout features an 18-hole course and a rapidly growing range of paid DLC add-ons, including Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, The Mist, Meow Wolf, Wallace and Gromit, and next year, Elvis Presley. Contains libraries. Guest Pass allows you to play with friends without owning the course, but the freedom to collect hidden balls and unlock clubs gives players a strong reason to purchase add-on content.

Walkabout Mini Golf can be found on the Quest Store, Steam Store, PlayStation Store, and Apple App Store.
