With TVOS 26, Apple Music Sing allows users to turn their iPhone into a wireless microphone from Apple TV Karaoke Sessions.
This feature supports multiple participants and allows friends to use their iPhone to queue songs or send emoji responses that appear on the screen. The real-time lyrics are displayed on Apple TV along with visual effects that respond to the music.
The wide range of new language support on Apple’s platform extends to Sing’s new lyrics translation and pronunciation features. The translation covers the choice between English-Chinese (simplified), English and Japanese, Korean-Chinese (simplified), Korean, English, Korean and Japanese pairs.
Meanwhile, pronunciation support ranges from multiple scripts that include jyutping from Guangdong, from Hindi to Roman Hindi, from Japan to Roman Japanese, and Korean in both Katakana and Roman Korean. Punjabi songs gain support for pronunciation of Roman Punjabi.
The updated Sing Experience requires an iPhone 11 or later model paired with the third generation Apple TV 4K. TVOS 26 is currently available in the developer beta version, with a public beta coming next month.
