Samsung has announced the Galaxy A16 5G and the best part about this smartphone is that you get 6 Android OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches. This means users don’t have to worry about getting the latest Android updates until October 31, 2030. Perhaps this is the first time that a budget smartphone will get such an update.
In terms of processors, the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G is powered by Exynos 1330 in Europe and Dimensity 6300 in other markets such as India and Thailand. As for storage, the RAM is 4GB while the onboard storage is 128GB. There is external support for microSD cards up to 1.5TB. This device is 7.9mm but does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The OS of the device is One UI 6.1 based on Android 14 and offers Super AMOLED with FHD+ resolution. The front camera of the device is 13MP and is housed in a waterdrop display. The rear camera setup, on the other hand, is a triple camera setup. It consists of a 50MP primary camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.
It has waterproof and dustproof performance equivalent to IP54, and the battery capacity is 5000mAh. The charging support for the device is 25W. The power key also acts as a fingerprint scanner.
