Best Technology Gifts of 2024
Niinbot
Everyone needs to label, but I experienced it with a clunky old single line label maker with a hard to use keyboard. The Niimbot B21 is a wireless, battery-powered thermal printer that comes in a variety of sizes and styles and lets you create all kinds of custom labels using an app on your phone.
Not only does this work well, but it’s really cute. The retro design is available in 5 colors. I like red, but they are all smooth.

Many people forget that local TV stations still exist and broadcast for free. For those who are tired of paying for live TV streaming services, all you need is an antenna.
Most of the products out there are large flat rectangles or similarly blunt, but look at this. This is a bird. Assuming the recipient lives within range of a local tower, this is the most attractive way to watch network TV I’ve ever seen.

big red rooster
Do you know someone who has trouble sleeping? Many people turn to white noise as a solution because it gives the brain a place to rest its attention, rather than focusing on thoughts and worries that disrupt sleep. I trust you.
There are phone apps available, but I like having a dedicated white noise machine because I can choose from a variety of timers and sounds with the push of a button. Big Red Rooster (funny name because this is what a rooster is supposed to do) wake up you) includes six different sounds (rain, ocean, etc.) and runs on batteries or the included AC adapter.

Anyone who loves retro things will love this adorable Bluetooth speaker. It comes in 5 different colors and can play for up to 6 hours on a single charge. Design is not just about appearance. Control the volume with the large dial, and play/pause music and skip tracks with the buttons below. It’s small, so don’t expect it to make a lot of noise, but it might be perfect for a desk or nightstand.

tile
Losing things is the worst. That’s why I recommend Tile Pro trackers for all your keychains, wallets, bags, and more. If something’s missing, just launch the Tile smartphone app to find it.
Even more convenient, if the phone itself goes missing, just press the button twice on the Tile Pro and your phone will ring, even if it’s set to silent. (This very useful feature is not supported by Apple AirTags.) In my experience, a tile tracker is essential.

Freshly updated for 2024, the Amazon Fire HD 8 offers incredible value for money, especially if your main purpose is to consume entertainment. Watch movies, TV shows, books, podcasts, games, and more with just a tap or two.
All of this happens on a screen that’s crisp and sturdy (Amazon says it’s twice as durable as the iPad Mini). And here’s the best part. Fire HD 8 costs just $100. What’s even more surprising is that you can often find it on sale for a much lower price.

The Echo Show 8 is one of my favorite tech gadgets and makes an especially great gift for parents and grandparents. In addition to everyday Alexa features like spoken news, music, and weather, you can stream movies and TV shows, make video calls with friends and family, view live feeds from your home security cameras, and more. You can
The Show 8 is available in black or white. This third-generation version features improved sound and camera, as well as new smart home hub functionality.

This may not seem like “technology” in the traditional sense, but hear me out. The GT160 is a rechargeable air compressor that can bring your car’s tires to maximum pressure in just a few minutes. It can also be used for bikes, balls, and other items, and also has a dual-mode flashlight in case of nighttime punctures. (Isn’t that always the case?)
The technical part is the 7,500 mAh battery, which can also be used as a power bank so you can charge your phone even in an emergency. I own something similar and it works great. It’s definitely a great gadget for anyone who drives a car.

Reading books on your smartphone is convenient with the Kindle app, but what is the actual reading experience like? I can’t say it’s great. That’s why I love Kindle, which has a large screen and is easy on the eyes. Plus, it frees readers from countless phone distractions like TikTok, text messages, Instagram, and more. The Kindle is all about books, and Amazon’s entry-level model is a non-glare gem.

If you’re not lucky enough to have one of these already, this is top on my wishlist. DJI Neo is a flying video camera. chasing you. You can also zoom out and zoom back in, orbit, or fly directly overhead.
It may not be the price to buy on impulse, but it’s well worth it for those who want to enjoy Hollywood-style videos without the need for a film crew. Read our DJI Neo review to learn more.

1MORE
You are not made of money. So if you want to gift someone a set of Apple AirPods, what’s an affordable alternative? 1More’s Aero offers great sound, active noise cancellation (ANC), and features rarely seen in this price range. It’s a great choice because it offers spatial audio, all for less than $100.
Available in black as well as white. (No matter how you look at it, AirPods only come in white!)

The outside world is stressful. Please help someone use good noise canceling headphones to muffle the noise. Thankfully, you don’t have to drop $350 to buy Sony’s ultra-luxury WH-1000XM5. No need when the CH720N offers the same great sound and noise cancellation for a fraction of the price.
Admittedly, you will lose some features, such as wear detection and folding design. But these cans get it done in key places. Read our review of the Sony WH-CH720N headphones to learn more.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that a smartwatch under $100 can’t have something good, but you’d be wrong. Amazfit Bip 5 packs an embarrassing amount of richness on your wrist, from a large color display to multiple health monitors to a 5-10 day battery life. It’s packed with useful features and even lets you answer the phone like Dick Tracy. (However, you must keep your cell phone nearby.)

embers
Going to the microwave every 10 minutes to reheat cold coffee or tea doesn’t seem like a good time to me. One of my favorite tech products, the Ember Mug keeps your drink at the exact temperature from first sip to last. It may sound trivial, but once you try it, you’ll never go back.
Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s the perfect gift for anyone who likes to enjoy a warm drink slowly.

aura
I won’t shut up about digital photo frames. These are magical things that put your photos (and even videos) at the center of your home, instead of hiding them on your phone or in an album. That’s why I consider this one of the best gifts.
Aura Carver is especially great because not only can you preload photos, but you can also preconfigure them for use on the recipient’s Wi-Fi network. It’s especially great if you’re sending it to someone who isn’t technically savvy. From there, new photos can be easily added, both from the user’s phone and from friends and family.
You can find more information and great frames in our roundup of the best digital photo frames of 2024.
