I know some people worry about screen time, and I agree, but Emma uses her iPad for more than just YouTube (kids version only, folks!) and Minecraft. She uses it for her school math program (she is very proud of Lexia’s grades) and for games such as: Poku Pokua calming game with endless ways to have fun on long journeys. She grew up playing Poku Poku, which taught her problem solving and gave her an idea of diversity and community.
We recently moved from California to Virginia. The iPad allows Emma to talk to her cousins on the West Coast and FaceTime her sisters in England while playing Minecraft. This is a great communication tool and her grandparents will love talking to her at random times of the day. Apple has great parental controls so you can lock it down to keep her safe.
Trust me, I’ve tried other tablets. I’m a die-hard Android fan. best android tablet Keep candles away from your iPad. The same goes for Amazon Fire Kids Edition. The main reason I didn’t buy an iPad for my kid — frankly, the only reason — was the price, and this new $199 deal completely eliminates that problem.
