Tesla app for wall connector

Tesla has released a new mobile app update that adds offline functionality, a Powerwall power meter, and more.

Today, Tesla pushed a new Tesla app update to the Apple App Store. The release notes say:

  • Commands can now be executed offline when near the vehicle. Requires vehicle software version 2024.38+
  • Add favorite commands to Control Center in iOS 18

It’s unclear which commands will allow it to work without an internet connection, but it could certainly be useful.

However, if you are already near the vehicle, the only thing that really helps is unlocking the car and opening the trunk/frunk.

There are also some updates that are not mentioned in the release notes.

Tesla software engineer Alex Guichet reports that a new power meter has been added to the app for Powerwall and POwershare owners.

Powerwall owners can now track how close they are to maximum power capacity during a power outage.

This allows homeowners to adjust power usage in real time to avoid overload issues and potentially extend the amount of time a Powerwall can power a home during a power outage.
