TL;DR

  • T-Mobile will begin offering plans for $5 per month per device for connected devices such as smartwatches, laptops, and tablets.
  • Tablets and laptops receive up to 30 GB of high-speed data each month, then unlimited data at 600 kbps.
  • Smartwatch can get unlimited calls, texts and data.

T-Mobile is losing the competition when it comes to wireless plans for smartwatches, laptops, and tablets. Starting October 17, Un-carrier will offer Go5G Next and Go5G Business Next plans for connected devices for just $5 per month per device. This is the cheapest plan to buy a smartwatch, tablet, or laptop anywhere. Verizon and AT&T both offer plans starting at $10.

What’s included in the T-Mobile $5/month plan?

T-Mobile’s $5/month Go5G Next and Go5G Business Next plans offer different benefits depending on the devices you subscribe to.
Tablets and laptops get up to 30 GB of high-speed data each month, and once you reach the high-speed data limit, you get unlimited 600 kbps data for the rest of the month.

The smartwatch can get unlimited calls, text messages, and data over 512kbps. You’re also covered when you travel internationally outside of T-Mobile’s network.

The carrier notes that a family of three with a smartwatch and tablet can save more than $50 per month with Go5G Next compared to similar plans offered by AT&T and Verizon.

Provides cheaper connected devices

T-Mobile now also covers price differentials for cellular-enabled smartwatches, tablets, and some laptops. Cellular-enabled devices are typically more expensive than Wi-Fi-only versions. So if you’re a new or existing T-Mobile customer, you’ll not only pay less for your cellular plan, but you’ll also get cellular versions of devices like smartwatches, tablets, and laptops for the same price. Wi-Fi version. The carrier will also cover the price difference for laptops not sold by T-Mobile. Customers who bring their own laptop can get up to $200 back on a cellular-enabled laptop when they sign up for a $5/month plan from T-Mobile.

If you don’t have a cell phone-enabled laptop, T-Mobile is offering the TCL LINKPORT IK511 USB dongle for $50 for a limited time. Connect your portable devices to your laptop for 5G connectivity.

Additionally, T-Mobile’s device protection plan, Protection 360, will also be upgraded. We now offer unlimited claims for accidental damages and include unlimited $0 screen repairs. This upgrade also applies to smartphones other than smartwatches, laptops, and tablets.

$200 off Samsung smartwatches and tablets

For a limited time, T-Mobile is offering $200 off when you add Samsung Galaxy smartwatches and tablets to Go5G Next and Go5G Business Next for $5 per month. Eligible smartwatches include Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, Watch 7, Watch FE, and more. Eligible tablets include Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, Tab A9 Plus, Tab S9 FE 5G, and more. All these sales start on October 17th.
