Agartala, October 18: Under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Yogajog Yojana, Finance Minister Pranajit Sinha Roy on Friday announced an amount of Rs 100 crore. 5,27,80,000 for providing smartphones to students.
The fund has been approved by the state government for 10,556 students at 38 state universities.
The Minister of Finance announced the fund at a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Information Technology Department’s Smart Training Center.
The initiative, managed by the Information Technology Department, aims to provide financial assistance to final year students for the purchase of smartphones for the 2022-2023 academic session. Each eligible student will receive a subsidy of Rs 1 million. 5,000.
