We’re only in the fourth quarter of this year, so Samsung is probably gearing up for the launch of the Galaxy S25 series. Although Fan Edition isn’t technically part of the flagship series, a new report has revealed some interesting information about the Galaxy S25 FE, including a name change and other specifications.
This report comes from The Elec (via X tipster Abhishek Yadav) about the upcoming Galaxy S25 FE handset. It is believed that it will be slimmer this time and should be tentatively called Galaxy S25 Slim.
Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE will be launched as the Galaxy S25 Slim, powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset and featuring a 6.7-inch dynamic AMOLED display that rivals Apple’s iPhone 17 Slim, reports The Elec (Korean publication) reports. #Samsung #GalaxyAI #GalaxyS25SlimOctober 13, 2024
The publication revealed that Samsung is looking to make the phone thinner by opting for a thinner battery with a larger surface area in order to offer its upcoming Fan Edition phone in a slimmer form factor. The device has a 6.7-inch display like the previous generation Galaxy S24 FE, but it should be a slimmer mid-range phone overall.
According to tipster Yadav, the upcoming Galaxy S25 FE/ Slim will use a MediaTek chipset instead of Qualcomm or Samsung’s own Exynos, which will definitely be an interesting choice for the Korean tech giant. The chipset in this case is likely the latest Dimensity 9400 SoC. The device could also be paired with Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Slim.
While these details certainly look interesting, it’s best to take them with a grain of salt. It will probably be released in a few months, probably in 2025.
The Elec further points out that while Samsung is gearing up for the launch of the Galaxy S25 series early next year, the Galaxy S25 FE or Slim is still in the product development stage. Interestingly, some renders of the upcoming flagship series have already surfaced online, revealing some of its design and specifications through leaked benchmark tests.
Alongside the Fan Edition phones, the outlet shares the screen size of the Galaxy S25 series phones. The regular Galaxy S25 has a 6.2-inch screen, followed by a 6.7-inch screen on the Plus model, and a massive 6.9-inch screen on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, these screen sizes are slightly larger than the existing Galaxy S24 models.
