Samsung is certainly the market leader when it comes to foldable smartphones, but Huawei was the first to introduce a tri-fold smartphone. According to a report by ZDNet Korea, Samsung plans to launch its own tri-fold model in 2025 that will be sold worldwide, unlike the China-only Mate XS Ultimate Edition.

For the uninitiated, most foldable smartphones are single-fold smartphones, but despite their name, trifold smartphones can be folded twice instead of three times. However, you will be able to use the device in three different form factors: a regular smartphone, a mini-tablet, and a full-fledged tablet.

Samsung is said to be currently developing two different types of foldable smartphones. One is an affordable clamshell foldable that could be the company’s cheapest in its category, and the other could be the Korean tech giant’s most expensive smartphone. It is a tall tri-fold type. .

Huawei was the first brand to commercially launch a tri-fold smartphone, but Samsung has shown several prototypes of such devices at CES 2022, and the company is also showing a foldable smartphone that can be folded in both directions. I am doing it.

At the moment, there is not much information about the features and specifications of Samsung’s next tri-fold smartphone. However, like the company’s other foldable devices, it will likely be a flagship device offering high-end specs and will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. It is also expected to be one of the first foldable devices from Samsung to run OneUI 7, which is based on Android 15 OS.

Celebration benefits

Considering the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, the next Samsung tri-fold model is likely to cost more than $2,000 or Rs 200,000 in India.
