Samsung has officially confirmed the arrival of new Galaxy devices with a new teaser video, hinting that a Galaxy Z Fold 6 “special edition” will probably be announced in just a few days.
There are rumors that a “special edition” Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be released at some point this year. So far, we’ve seen leaked renders that flaunt a large camera bump compared to the thin body. The device is believed to feature a 200MP main camera sensor and is likely to launch at a higher price point than the already expensive Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Samsung posted a teaser video for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition on its Korean site today. This video incorporates a vintage aesthetic to infuse a certain sense of class. Inside the envelope is a Galaxy Fold model whose details have not yet been confirmed, and the words “You are invited” are scattered throughout.
Samsung has set the date of this announcement as October 21st. Other than that and an expensive Galaxy Z Fold 6 with creases still clearly visible, there’s not much to glean from the video. There are no special colors or angles to show off the phone’s thinness. It appears to use the same aspect ratio as the original Galaxy Z Fold 6, but there are very few differences from it.
The device is expected to be exclusive to China for the time being.
Until October 21st, there’s likely not much we’ll be able to learn about the device other than what’s listed in Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition teaser. Of course, it was only four days later.
