- Last week, Samsung published a blog post about the productivity of the Galaxy S25 Ultra S Pen.
- That post included a passage referencing the phone’s support for Bluetooth-equipped S Pen accessories, contrary to Samsung’s previous comments.
- Samsung has now clarified that this post is false and the S25 Ultra does not support Bluetooth pen interaction.
Samsung’s first big smartphone launch of the year is finally here, and soon Galaxy fans will be getting their first delivery of S25 hardware. There’s a lot to like from this generation, but it’s not without its controversy, and one that’s garnering considerable attention concerns the decision to downgrade the S Pen’s capabilities. There was some news over the weekend that made it sound like this downgrade wasn’t as severe as originally thought, but Samsung has now clarified that Android Authority Bluetooth pen support is really gone from the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
When Samsung announced its Galaxy S25 phones last week, it said the S25 Ultra would arrive without an S Pen and without offering Bluetooth connectivity. This meant users couldn’t access features like AIR actions or using the S Pen as a camera remote shutter. It was bad enough not to have it on a phone’s built-in S Pen, but the company has decided that even if the S25 Ultra gets a Bluetooth-equipped stylus like the S Pen Pro, it won’t have a Bluetooth pen. says it does not support interaction.
It felt like this book was closed on the S25 Ultra and all the Bluetooth pen stuff, but late last week Samsung posted a story on its own insight The S25 Ultra S Pen Productivity blog includes a section on using the Ultra with an external Bluetooth S Pen (like the S Pen Pro) – what we were just told was not possible.

Naturally, we reached out to Samsung for comment and now we’re hearing from the S25 manufacturer. Sadly, it appears this blog post was a false tease, and Samsung has confirmed that the S25 Ultra will do not have No matter which pen you use, it supports S Pen Bluetooth control.
The blog post containing this misleading passage is currently still alive as we have published our own coverage, but Samsung communicated Android Authority Please update this page to no longer include this message.
In the end, it will be a bummer for S Pen fans who were hoping Samsung was reconsidering its position. But not everyone is sad to see Samsung slowly retreating from the S Pen. Are you still a big stylus user? Please share your opinion with us in the comments below.
