There is little doubt that we will see the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 in 2025. And now that the codenames of these phones have been leaked, it seems that any lingering doubts have been dispelled.
GalaxyClub (via GSMArena) claims to have received information about these phones, stating that they are under development with codenames B7 (for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7) and Q7 (for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7). I am.
So far, it’s not all that surprising. However, in addition to these, there is also a device codenamed Q7M, claims GalaxyClub.
So what is this? The site doesn’t know, other than to suggest it could be a variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, but raises two possibilities. One is that this is Samsung’s rumored tri-fold smartphone, but we suspect it will be released as a completely separate model rather than a derivative of the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Another suggestion that GalaxyClub makes is that this could be a special edition model, as was recently seen with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which is currently exclusive to South Korea. However, the phone was codenamed Q6A, following the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 which was codenamed Q6. So, logically, the successor would be codenamed Q7A rather than Q7M.
Affordable or ultra-luxury?
So what else can we think of? The other two possibilities we can think of are either the relatively low-cost Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, or perhaps the ultra-luxury Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra.
The latter of these may be more likely, as Samsung recently said it has no plans to launch a cheaper Galaxy Z Fold model. But in reality, this could become something if this leak turns out to be false. Or maybe nothing happens at all.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, and at least the standard model of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, is expected to be released in July or August, so we might get a more detailed idea.
