Following the big sale of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6, the company has given the Galaxy Watch Ultra its first major discount since its launch in July.
The Korean company has slashed the price of its wearables by $145, bringing the price down to $504.98. More than $500 is still a hefty price for Samsung’s premium smartwatch, but the size of the discount provides some insight into the company’s upcoming Black Friday pricing.
Samsung has repeatedly discounted all of its wearable products. if These are purchased as part of a bundle with your smartphone, giving you up to 25% off accessories. However, the sole discount on the Galaxy Watch Ultra suggests that the company will repeat similar price cuts during next month’s Black Friday sale.
The $145 price drop includes an enhanced trade-in value of up to $350 on your old smartwatch. The highest numbers are reserved for newer devices such as the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, Galaxy Watch 6, Apple Watch Ultra, and Apple Watch Ultra 2. Of course, we do not recommend replacing your new device with another new device. However, there are some notable price points for older wearables.
- Apple Watch Series 6 – $250
- Apple Watch Series 5 – $200
- Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic – $300
- Garmin Forerunner 255 – $150
Samsung is offering a flat $100 fee on Fitbit, Fossil, and other smartwatches. At first glance, if you pay top dollar for a smartwatch from one of these companies, this isn’t a good deal, but the reality of how consumers value smartwatches not made by Samsung, Apple, or Garmin also makes sense. It is reflected.
If you own Fitbit, Fossil, Amazfit or any other brand, you can try your luck on the secondary market. However, if your device is more than 3 years old (devices under 3 years old should not be traded in), it may not sell for more than $100.
Also, if you have a very old smartwatch on hand, it might be worth taking a deal with Samsung. The trade-in page specifies that Samsung will pay $100 for “any smartwatch, in any condition.” It might be worth buying it from a thrift store for a bargain price to get an extra $100 off.
The only Samsung accessory that remains resolutely at full price is the Galaxy Ring, but the Korean company has yet to offer any discounts. Although other retailers such as Amazon offer discounts on smart rings in certain sizes. If Samsung decides to lower the price of the Ring, I suspect it will be one of the most popular Black Friday sales of the year.
