Samsung Galaxy smartphones could replace settings with AI

Samsung has been hard at work introducing new AI features for its Galaxy devices, and a new report claims that one of the company’s goals is to use AI to effectively navigate the various settings menus we deal with on a regular basis. The idea is to replace it.

So far, Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite has been mostly limited to the ability to generate content and help edit and translate text and audio. It has some really useful features, but it’s clear there’s a lot of room to add more features.

ET News We report that one of the things Samsung is considering is a way to essentially replace settings with the help of Galaxy AI.

There’s a lot of room for interpretation here, but the report claims that Samsung wants users to be able to use the smartphone “without using the settings menu.” This could be true across deeper settings menus or settings within individual apps. The report also states that Samsung “aims to predict what consumers want in advance by improving the performance of ‘touch points’ such as keyboards and cameras.” ”

This isn’t the first time Samsung has set this goal. The company’s Bixby Assistant has long been very good at handling settings changes on your device, especially compared to the likes of Google Assistant. It appears Samsung wants to use that foundation to automate effectively. Earlier this year, Samsung confirmed plans to revamp Bixby using AI, and this is very likely related to this effort.
