At Red Bull Rampage 2025, Galaxy Rings helped athletes prepare for big moments
October 14, 2024
The collaboration between Samsung Galaxy and Red Bull continues this month with Red Bull Rampage, the premier big mountain freeride mountain bike event, including the first-ever all-female competition. Each rider and team faced a daunting task. Using only water, hand tools, and 75 sandbags, it took eight days to build the lip, landing, and line needed to get from the top of the mountain to the finish line.
Previously, the impact of this demanding challenge could only be described in words. Now, with the help of Galaxy Ring, the team tracks riders’ physical and mental readiness before and every day during the event, and receives personalized recommendations on how to improve their routines. Once the competition began, Galaxy S24 Ultra captured every heart-pounding race and every emotional moment. The Galaxy Z Flip6 also helped athletes film their practice sessions using FlexCam. You don’t need a tripod or assistance to get the perfect shot.
“Galaxy Ring and Galaxy smartphones highlight yet another example of how innovative devices can deliver thrilling experiences,” said Simon Curran, Head of Partnerships, Samsung Electronics America. “Red Bull Rampage is proud to announce the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s incredible camera and Galaxy S24 Ultra, which supports athletes’ recovery times by providing personalized advice based on their sleep, activity and more, from sleep analysis to wellness tips. It was a great opportunity to showcase Ring’s groundbreaking capabilities.”
Red Bull competitions are synonymous with daring challenges, and the Galaxy Ring followed world-class athletes Casey Braun and Kurt Sorge day and night. In the eight days leading up to the competition, each rider and team worked hard to imagine and create the best path down the mountain. Throughout this process, the Galaxy Ring tracked activity levels, sleep quality, and more, providing a daily energy score summarizing the rider’s readiness. Teams used these scores to determine how much rest riders needed to ensure peak performance on race day. Throughout the competition, these daily scores were shared on the broadcast, highlighting the impact of preparation and how Galaxy Ring’s personalized tips gave contestants the tools they needed to succeed .
“The minimal design of the Galaxy Ring fits my lifestyle perfectly. I can’t believe how much technology goes into such a small piece of jewelry. It’s helped me with my recovery,” says Casey Brown. Said. “You don’t even notice it when you’re doing everyday activities like digging in the ground or riding a bike. You can even sleep with it on without even realizing it’s on.”
Red Bull Rampage was full of excitement from start to finish, featuring jaw-dropping action, close races, and iconic wins. The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 200MP camera was on hand to capture these memorable moments. Powered by the innovative ProVisual Engine, Samsung Galaxy’s comprehensive suite of AI-powered tools, the Galaxy S24 Ultra was ready for any situation. This includes using 100x magnification to photograph riders at the top of the mountain and taking advantage of ground-breaking nightgraphy enhancements that deliver clear images from early morning until late at night. You can take photos.
