Samsung, which dominates the foldable smartphone market, has fallen behind Huawei when it comes to tri-fold devices. Huawei has become the first company to launch a tri-fold smartphone with Mate XS Ultimate Edition.

Not to be left behind, Samsung is gearing up to launch its first tri-fold device on the market. The South Korean tech giant plans to launch its own tri-fold phone in 2025, according to a new report. And the good news is that it will be available worldwide, rather than being limited to the Chinese market like the Mate XS Ultimate Edition.

Trifold attracts attention with its triple screen that can be folded twice. Additionally, once opened, it can be transferred from a smartphone to a mini-tablet, and once fully revealed, it functions as a proper tablet of similar length. That means you get three products in one device.

However, the company is yet to launch a tri-fold device. The company displayed several prototypes of such devices at CES 2022. The company also displayed more foldable devices that can be folded in both directions.

Samsung is said to be currently developing two different types of foldable smartphones. One is an affordable clamshell foldable that could be the company’s cheapest in its category, and the other could be the Korean tech giant’s most expensive smartphone. It is a tall tri-fold type. .

At the moment, there is not much information about the features and specifications of Samsung’s next tri-fold smartphone. However, like the company’s other foldable devices, it will likely be a flagship device offering high-end specs and will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. It is also expected to be one of the first foldable devices from Samsung to run OneUI 7, which is based on Android 15 OS.

Considering the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, the next Samsung tri-fold model is likely to cost more than $2,000 or Rs 200,000 in India.
