Capcom plans to release Resident Evil 2 for iPhone, iPad, and Mac later this year.
The game will arrive on the App Store on December 31, 2024, following the mobile ports of Resident Evil 4, 7, and Village.
Supported on iPhone 15 Pro models, iPhone 16, and all iPads and Macs with the M1 chip or later.
As with previous Resident Evil releases on iOS, the early game is free to play, but the full title must be unlocked with an in-app purchase.
Capcom hasn’t disclosed prices, but Resident Evil 7 and Village will cost $20, and Resident Evil 4 will cost $60.
As of August, the iOS versions of these Resident Evil games require an online connection to launch. This also applies to Resident Evil 2.
The Resident Evil 2 remake was originally released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019, when VGC named it Game of the Year.
It was later released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Amazon Luna.
Capcom announced this summer that Resident Evil 7 director Hiroshi Nakanishi will be directing the next installment in the series, Resident Evil 9.
