Here’s a preview of this weekend’s MLS match, Colorado Rapids vs. LA Galaxy. We post important information such as team news, projected lineups, and how to watch on TV.

Last Saturday, the Los Angeles Galaxy faced off against the Colorado Rapids in the first round of the 2024 MLS Playoffs, winning in a landslide 5-0.

LA Galaxy are preparing for Game 2, and hopes are high that the Galaxy will maintain their dominant form and continue their impressive scoring streak. With star players like Riqui Puig, Gabriel Peck and Dejan Jovezic leading the way, fans can be sure it will be an exciting match.

Riqui Pucci, Gabriel Peck

Colorado Rapids vs. LA Galaxy kicks off on Friday, November 1st at 6:30 pm PT/9:30 pm ET.

Riqui Puig played a central role in last week’s victory, scoring two goals and assisting another. His performance propelled the Galaxy forward and helped set a new record in U.S. soccer. According to FOX Deportes, Puig became the first player in all competitions to contribute a goal or assist in 13 consecutive home games.

The Galaxy’s only injury concern heading into this game is Martin Caceres, who will likely not play Friday due to an Achilles tendon issue.

LA won the first game with two goals from Dejan Jovezic and Riqui Puig, with John Nelson also finding the back of the net.

Expected lineup for LA Galaxy vs. Colorado Rapids: McCarthy; Yamane, Yoshida, Garces, Nelson. Reus, Delgado, Puig. Peck, Yovezic, Paintsil.

The Colorado Rapids are struggling with a four-game losing streak.

Team captain Keegan Rosenberry sent a message to fans, stressing the importance of their support. “To have that energy in the building and get through the tough moments of the game, I don’t even know if they understand what that means to us.”

In the series opener, the Rapids were without Djordje Mihajlovic due to an ankle sprain, Michael Edwards was out with a sore back and Cole Bassett continued to recover from a quadriceps injury.

From game day against Austin FC to Game 1 of this series, two changes were made to the Rapids’ starting lineup, with Zach Steffen taking back the goal spot in place of Adam Bewdry and Mihajlovic replacing Mihajlovic. Former Galaxy winger Kevin Cabral was added to the lineup.

Predicted lineup for Colorado Rapids vs. LA Galaxy: Stephen; Vines, Abubakar, Maxo, Rosenberry. Laraz, Ronan. Cabral, Harris, Ruiz. Navarro.

In the United States, Colorado Rapids vs. LA Galaxy will be aired via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

With a strong track record, the LA Galaxy is poised to take back the championship title. The Colorado Rapids will need to improve their on-field accuracy and decision-making if they hope to bring home a win in their next game.

Score prediction: Colorado Rapids 1-4 Los Angeles Galaxy.
