In the age of AI, smartphone experiences are becoming increasingly intelligent and immersive, resulting in an increased demand for on-device computing. This provides clients with the benefits of Armv9, delivering the performance, efficiency, and accessibility to deliver cutting-edge AI experiences while enabling partners to more easily and quickly build Arm-based silicon solutions. That’s why we announced Arm Compute Subsystems (CSS) for

AI powers the generation of text, images, audio, and video to deliver dynamic and immersive games. CSS for clients and the Arm Cortex-X925 CPU improved time to first token by 46%, and the Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU improved AI/ML performance by 36% compared to the previous generation. Our ecosystem collaboration is raising the bar for new AI-enabled smartphone experiences that redefine how we all live, work, and play. To ensure the best user experience, vivo and Arm announced a joint lab for future deep technology collaboration earlier this year. This collaboration brings together vivo’s knowledge of the use cases and capabilities demanded by today’s consumers with Arm’s high-performance, power-efficient computing platform to deliver these engaging experiences on vivo’s flagship devices. It will look like this.

Speaking of which, vivo’s new flagship smartphone X200 series is a prime example of strong ecosystem collaboration, leveraging MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9400 system-on-chip (SoC) built on the latest Armv9 technology. The Arm-based Dimensity 9400 SoC delivers advanced performance, power efficiency, and superior AI and multimedia features to bring PC-class performance to the next generation of flagship smartphones.

Superior IPC performance with Arm Cortex-X925

At the heart of Dimensity 9400 is the Cortex-X925, the most powerful Cortex-X CPU to date. Cortex-X925 improves IPC performance by 15% compared to the previous generation, ensuring Dimensity 9400 outperforms even the most demanding tasks. This includes faster AI application responses, smoother AAA gaming experiences, and faster app navigation while maintaining optimal power efficiency, making Dimensity 9400 up to 40% more power efficient than the previous generation. Percentage improvement.

Big-core Armv9 CPU cluster for all smartphone workloads

Built on TSMC’s cutting-edge N3E process technology, Dimensity 9400 features an Armv9.2 CPU in a big core cluster consisting of 1x Cortex-X925, 3x Cortex-X4, and 4x Cortex-A720. Dimensity 9400 has improved single-threaded performance by 35% and sustained multi-threaded performance by 28% compared to the previous generation. This applies to all workloads on smartphones, from “bursty” workloads that require peak performance, such as app launches, to sustained workloads that require a combination of performance and efficiency, such as gaming and video streaming. covers.

Armv9 architecture foundation

At the heart of the Armv9 CPU design in Dimensity 9400 are SVE2 architecture features. It incorporates new specialized vector instructions that are perfect for accelerating key workloads and applications on smartphones. SVE2 speeds up HDR video decoding by approximately 10%, allowing users to experience longer battery life while streaming on-demand video in leading applications, while also improving algorithms used in computational photography. Achieve a 20% performance increase in , leading to improved photo quality on mobile. device.

Advanced gaming and accelerated AI experiences

On the graphics side, with the integration of Immortalis-G925 GPU, Dimensity 9400 delivers 41 percent higher peak performance and 44 percent power savings compared to the previous generation. This allows users to enjoy immersive visual experiences and seamless multitasking without sacrificing battery life, while also improving acceleration capabilities for AI use cases such as image classification, natural language processing, and speech-to-text. I will.

Immortalis-G925 also drives improvements to ray-traced content on mobile, with Dimensity 9400 delivering 40% more ray-tracing performance compared to the previous generation. This allows for increased realism and a high-quality gaming experience on mobile.

Unlock AI and gaming performance with software

Alongside hardware innovation, Arm, MediaTek, and vivo collaborate extensively to deliver optimal performance through joint optimization of hardware and software. End users will experience these enhancements first-hand, including improved web application responsiveness, through Vivo’s flagship smartphone X200 series.

For gaming, we’re working with MediaTek to demonstrate the performance benefits of Arm Accuracy Super Resolution (Arm ASR). Arm ASR is a best-in-class open source solution for upscaling visual and gaming content on mobile. Available on Dimensity-based mobile devices. Switching on Arm ASR will significantly improve gaming performance on your GPU, leading to power savings and longer gameplay.

Arm ASR benefits

Arm is also focused on efforts across the software ecosystem to ensure developers can unlock the performance they need to create the next wave of amazing AI-powered applications. This is exactly why we introduced Arm Kleidi, which gives developers smooth access to the best possible performance on Arm CPUs. We have already demonstrated the value of Kleidi through integrations with the world’s most popular AI frameworks, including PyTorch, MediaPipe, and Hunyuan. These integrations improve the performance of leading large language models (LLMs), such as Meta’s Llama 3, on Arm-based mobile devices.

Unprecedented ecosystem collaboration

Through a combination of cutting-edge technology, innovative process implementation, and software performance optimization, Arm helps our partners bring the best AI-powered solutions to market as quickly as possible. Together with MediaTek, vivo, and the world’s leading software ecosystem, we continue to redefine the mobile computing experience.
