new Onyx BOOX Note Air4 C is a 10.3-inch tablet with a 10.3-inch E Ink Kaleido 3-color display capable of displaying 4096 colors, support for touchscreen and pressure-sensitive pen input, and an Android-based operating system.

Designed primarily for reading and writing, this tablet is a fairly modest update compared to the previous generation Onyx BOOX Note Air3 C. However, there are two important changes. The new model has 50% more RAM and a new version of Android. The $500 price remains the same.

The new model has 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and runs Android 13. latest The version of Android available (i.e. Android 15) is newer than the version of Google’s mobile operating system that most tablets with E Ink displays come with.

In comparison, the BOOX Note Air3 C has 4GB of RAM and runs Android 12.

Most other features appear unchanged. Both tablets are powered by unspecified octa-core processors and support dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5 (the new tablet supports Bluetooth 5.1).

Both tablets also feature e-paper displays with a resolution of 2480 x 1860 and can display black and white content at 300 pixels per inch. However, when viewing color content, it drops to 1240 x 930 pixels (150 ppi).

Other features include a G-sensor for automatic screen rotation, a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button, and a USB Type-C port (with a USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter) that can be used for storage, data, or audio. Contains. , stereo speakers, microphone, and microSD card reader for removable storage.

The tablet measures 226 x 193 x 5.8 mm (8.9 inches x 7.6 inches x 0.23 inches) and weighs 420 grams (14.8 ounces). Powered by a 3700mAh battery, you can expect several weeks of battery life, although actual runtime will vary based on usage.

The Onyx BOOX Note Air4 C costs $500, which is $79 less than the reMarkable Paper Pro. In some ways, the Android operating system is more versatile because it allows you to install third-party applications. However, reMarkable’s tablets are specialized devices that use a higher quality (and slower) E Ink Gallery color display and a custom operating system designed specifically for reading and writing.
