Nintendo Music is a new iPhone app that allows Nintendo Online subscribers to listen to a growing collection of music from games across the catalog.
It’s not hard to find video game music on streaming services like Apple Music or websites like YouTube, but Nintendo offers a more official solution. So if you want to listen to video game soundtracks that are a little more selectively curated by Nintendo, there’s an app for that.
Nintendo Music was released Wednesday night as a surprise from the company. You can download it for free from the App Store.
The service includes soundtracks from all generations of Nintendo series. mario, pokemon, zeldaand many more. We have curated playlists based on themes like characters, games, or the beginning of your adventure.
Many of these soundtracks are available on Apple Music, but there are big benefits to getting them on another app or service. First, you don’t have to worry about video game music interfering with Apple Music’s recommendation algorithms, for example.
There’s also an important feature that only Nintendo thought of: spoilers. Users can toggle off spoilers for specific games, eliminating the possibility of titles, images, and music spoiling games they haven’t yet played or finished.
Nintendo Music can be downloaded to iPhone and iPad via the App Store. This service requires an active subscription to Nintendo Online.
