Ahead of the official launch of MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 on October 9thththere are rumors that Samsung may include this chip in next year’s Galaxy S25. The first smartphones equipped with this chip have arrived. According to a report by Gizmochina, Wccftech, and mydrivers, the Vivo X200 series will reportedly be the first smartphone to be powered by the Dimensity 9400 chipset.

It’s worth noting that the Dimensity 9400 will reportedly be manufactured on TSMC’s 3nm, according to Wccftech. mydriver points out that this is also the first 3nm chip in the Android ecosystem.

For more information, Vivo is expected to launch the Vivo X200 series on October 14, including the Vivo X200, Vivo X200 Pro Mini, and Vivo X200 Pro. According to Gizmochina, all models will be equipped with Dimensity 9400.

The Dimensity 9400 is said to deliver 36% better performance and 41% more AI performance compared to Cortex-X4 with the introduction of the Arm Cortex-X925 ultra-large core, notes Gizmochina.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 is said to have superior performance, but there are also rumors that the unit price of the SoC has increased by 20%, and smartphone manufacturers may be forced to adjust the prices of their flagship models, according to Wccftech points out.

However, Wccftech indicates that the aforementioned concerns have been allayed after it was revealed that the base model of Vivo’s latest lineup, the X200, will have a starting price of 3,999 yuan (approximately $570 USD) per unit.

According to recent reports, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 is priced 20% lower than Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, raising the possibility that Samsung will adopt the chip in its next S25 to cut costs. Masu.
