Half of October has passed, and it’s finally starting to feel like autumn, or in my case, winter. The first snow has fallen! I’m not ready for that. Again, this means that the weather is becoming more conducive to staying inside and watching the latest movies and TV shows on the myriad streaming services we subscribe to these days. I will.
Every week I scour the internet for the best new movies, shows, comics, documentaries, and whatever else I can find and post them in this weekend’s streaming guide. I also highlight the shows I cover and find out what’s coming out each week. Please feel free to share your tips and recommendations TwitterInstagram or Facebook. I also love going to the movies, so I tend to include at least one theatrical release a week.
All of these are not shows or movies that I would actually recommend. I haven’t seen them all, but some are really bad. While I’m simply sharing what’s out there and giving my opinion on some of it, this guide is really meant to inform and help you make your own decisions. I am. Follow me on this blog as well to keep up to date with all my reviews.

Alright, let’s jump right in!
new shows and movies
Brothers (Prime Video)
A star-studded cast makes up this whimsical film, available now on Prime Video. Peter Dinklage and Josh Brolin play brothers (remember Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito play twins) twins). The film, which stars Glenn Close and Brendan Fraser, hasn’t received many reviews yet, but it looks like it’ll be a decent movie.
“The Office” Australian remake (Prime Video)
We’ve already discussed how bad this remake is office So I think this is more of a “what to avoid” entry than a “what to watch for” entry. This should be easy for Americans who don’t have access to the series on Prime Video like many other countries. Oh my god! I know I judge shows by their trailers alone, but this is a completely uninteresting trailer that seems to be missing almost everything that made the British and American versions great. Maybe that was a bad idea!
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 (Netflix)
I haven’t seen a single episode yet. attorney lincoln, However, I know it’s very popular and people seem to enjoy it and the Michael Connelly book it’s based on. Season 3 is currently available on Netflix and has a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This is a very good rating for season 3 of any production. Should I watch this? Maybe you should see this. May I remember? That’s a difficult question to answer. . . .
Elsbeth Season 2 (Paramount)
I haven’t seen it yet, but it seems to be getting pretty solid reviews from critics and viewers. It is a spin-off of good wife And Carrie Preston’s character on that show, Elsbeth Tascioni. As the name suggests, she plays both a lawyer and a detective in this procedural comedy. This weekend has a running theme!
MaXXXine (Max)
I thought M○○in It looked pretty interesting, but not interesting enough to warrant going to the theater. There’s a Mia Goth-led horror drama on Max right now, which is kind of funny to me. Max MaXXXine! Also starring Kevin Bacon, Elizabeth Debicki, and Giancarlo Esposito. Of course, this is the third film in the trilogy following Ti West. × and pearl And I haven’t seen them yet either. I hope someday we can do a three-part show on a snowy day.
Rumor (in the theater)
Cate Blanchett and Charles Dance. What else do you need to know? This film depicts the leaders of the most powerful countries who get lost in the woods and face unspeakable horrors at the G7 summit. It’s quite interesting. A line from a scene in the trailer where one of the leaders explains that they’re trying to capture zombies, and Blanchett’s character responds, “Protesters?” “That’s what I thought at first,” he replies. Or Canada’s Prime Minister exclaiming, “I love strong women!” While he pushes another man away. “I love them too much!” The cast includes Alicia Vikander and Takehiro Hira.
Here’s what’s new. Next, check out the many series currently streaming. I have written about many of them on this blog.
show in progress
Disclaimer (Apple TV)
Speaking of Cate Blanchett, she co-stars with Kevin Kline in this psychological thriller from Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron. The show is based on the novel by Renee Knight and follows journalist Katherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett) as a mysterious novel threatens to upend her entire life. I’ve been writing these guides and even though this was on my radar, I’ve been completely apart from actually seeing it. There are so many things I want to see these days. I’ll catch up and report back soon. New episodes will be released on Fridays.
Sweet Pea (Stars)
Two episodes of Ella Purnell murder drama sweet pea It’s currently out on Starz and I’m really enjoying it so far. Parnell is brilliant as young Rhiannon, a British wallflower struggling to find her voice. And when she finds her voice, it’s shockingly deadly. I posted my impressions of the first episode. New episodes arrive every Friday on Starz.
Tea cup (peacock)
I’m 1 episode late tea cup, But so far I’m really enjoying this new horror show that has a similar feel to MGM. from. A mysterious presence or misfortune causes animals to behave erratically, cars to start, and a small cast of characters trapped in the country mansion of Maggie and James Chenoweth (Yvonne Strahofksi and Scott Speedman). I realize that I am being Gore, tension, mystery, infidelity, possession, this has the makings of a great drama, but there’s still no resolution. I posted a review of the two-part series premiere.
Legend of Vox Machina Season 3 (Prime Video)
We’re currently three-quarters of the way through Season 3 of Prime Video’s best fantasy show. The legend of Vox Machina. i like it much better than this ring of power or Wheel of time. that‘Not even close. This series is hilarious but has a lot of heart—And there’s a lot of very inappropriate humor. You can check out interviews with the cast here. Three new episodes are available every Thursday on Prime Video.
Franchise (HBO)
I‘This new HBO comedy is also a little late, but we’ve found the season premiere. franchise It’s pretty fun, if not hilarious and laugh out loud. A strong cast and short episodes make this a very accessible little comedy about the shenanigans that happen behind the scenes of blockbuster superhero movies.. New episodes will be released on Sundays.
Daryl Dixon Season 2 — The Book of Carol (AMC)
I keep hoping things will get better The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon—carol’s book, But from what we’ve seen so far this season, that won’t happen. It’s just an incredibly lazy series, with stupid storylines and characters who are always doing really stupid shit, but protected from wrong choices by layers of plot armor. the walking dead It was once must-see television, but years of mismanagement and trust in the wrong people at AMC have led us to this unfortunate situation. Read our review of episode 3 here. New episodes drop on AMC on Sunday.
Agatha All Along (Disney+)
I’m enjoying it agatha forever Thankfully, it provided some much-needed backstory and a healthy dose of humor away from the witch’s path and its various trials. Kathryn Hahn continues to be an absolute treasure. Click here for your thoughts on episode 6. New episodes arrive every Wednesday on Disney+.
The Penguin (HBO/Max)
It was really fun penguin so far. I think it’s great that there are manga series like this for adults. This hasn’t happened in a really long time, probably not since. Watchmen. A really surprising treat that I wasn’t expecting much from was how great Cristin Milioti is as Sofia Falcone, who had her own backstory episode last week. she’s amazing! Read our review of the latest episode of penguin here. New episodes stream every Sunday.
From Season 3 (MGM+)
There are only 4 episodes left in the new season of from And it was everything I wanted, yet I still find myself rolling my eyes every now and then, or whenever I hear a line from one of the basically stupid extras. If they do something different in season 4, I hope it’s to improve the quality of the townsfolk or eliminate extras altogether. I don’t think we need this many residents. It would be tighter if this show had a smaller cast and only consisted of people we actually care about. Eliminating unnecessary things is cheap and lame. Still, I love the super creepy new season. You can read our review of episode 4 here. New episodes stream Sundays on MGM+.
Only Murders in the Building Season 4 (Hulu)
Lately, I’ve been trying to figure out who the killer is in the great fourth season. Just a murder inside the building. I’ve managed to find some red herrings and guessed why my favorite podcasting detective is smelling the wrong scent, but I still don’t know who the culprit is. However, I have a theory, and you won’t like it. We’re nearing the end of the season and we still don’t know for sure, but that’s always fun with mysteries. New episodes arrive on Hulu on Tuesdays.
I think it’s lasted long enough. Please let me know if I missed anything.
