Holy smokes, folks. many We’ll explain more in this guide. There’s a lot of new stuff being released and a lot of shows currently airing, and I’m doing my best to keep up. Even now that a few series have finished, I’m still juggling so many series that it’s a little tricky, but I’m not complaining. at least for now ring of power Now that it’s over, you can shift your focus to all the new stuff that’s just been released. The other two shows also just ended, but we’ll talk about their season finales below.
Every week I scour the internet for the best new movies, shows, comics, documentaries, and whatever else I can find and post them in this weekend’s streaming guide. We can’t always find everything, so please feel free to share your tips and recommendations any time. TwitterInstagram or Facebook. I also love going to the movies, so I tend to include at least one theatrical release a week.
One final note: many of the streaming guides you find online are unedited. However, I usually include my thoughts and opinions, even if you don’t necessarily agree with my views, and often link to review scores. I’m a critic, after all. I also link to reviews and articles I’ve written about the shows and movies on my list. You can always follow this blog to keep up to date with all my reviews.

Alright, let’s jump right in!
new shows and movies
Disclaimer (Apple TV)
This psychological thriller stars Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. Gravity, Pan’s Labyrinth and human children. The show is based on the novel by Renee Knight and follows journalist Katherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett) as a mysterious novel threatens to upend her entire life. Sacha Baron Cohen also stars. It’s dark and looks quite wild. The seven-part limited series will be available to stream on Fridays on Apple TV starting today.
Outer Banks Season 4 (Netflix)
To be honest, I have never seen a single episode. outer banks But it’s popular enough to have a fourth season on Netflix, which is no small thing. I read the synopsis for this season and it was too confusing to dig deeper, but it’s already out.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft (Netflix)
new animation tomb raider Hayley Atwell stars as Lara Croft in the series, and while she certainly looks great, her colleague Paul Tassi was not surprised, calling her “amazing.” That sounds like an apt statement, considering the critic-to-viewer ratio on Rotten Tomatoes is 67% to 59%. Still, if you’re a fan of the game or the movie, this might be a fun enough escape into the world of Lara Croft and her adventures.
Twilight of the Gods (Netflix)
I was shocked at how much I enjoyed the first few episodes twilight of the gods, Zack Snyder’s new animated series based on Norse mythology. As a general rule, I hate Snyder’s movies, so I expected to hate this show as well. the . . . Don’t watch this with kids because it’s actually very good, very violent, and has a lot of sex and nudity. I haven’t finished the show yet, but I like what’s going on.
Sweet Pea (Stars)
I’m a big fan of Ella Purnell, but most of her movies were American. she was very good yellow jacket (This is currently available on Netflix, so be sure to check it out) fall out Honestly, I forgot she was British. Well, her actual accent is revealed in this very dark new series about a “normal” young woman who suddenly finds herself a murderer and likes it. The first episode is currently available on Starz, with new episodes arriving every Friday.
Tea cup (peacock)
A reader told me about this before I started writing this guide. After seeing the very creepy and very scary trailer, I understand why they would send me tips. This looks right up my alley. like sweet pea, Some people may be surprised when they see the name of the program. Sounds like both. . . Kind and nice. Tea cups and sweet peas, just like spending a little time on the patio on a warm summer day. Well, if you watch the trailer, you can see that this show is going to be weird as hell. And it can be combined nicely with something like from (See below). I’ll try both in the near future and report back. The first two episodes appear to be available on Peacock now.
Citadel: Diana (Prime Video)
I can’t say I’m really looking forward to it. Citadel: Diana, Both are flagships citadel The one on Amazon was pretty bad (I only watched two episodes before I called) and it’s in Italian so I can’t stand Italian TV shows. That’s a joke! That last part is a joke. In fact, it was well received by critics, with an 83% rating on RT. citadel’s 51%. Maybe a new hero and a new setting is what this series needs.
The Apprentice (inside the theater)
of home alone 2 The first part that everyone has been waiting for is finally here! I’ve wanted Sebastian Stan to play an older Luke Skywalker for years. He would be perfect. Instead, Stan is now a young Donald Trump, and I honestly don’t know how to feel about that. apprentice The Rotten Tomatoes score is 77%, which frankly looks pretty good. I don’t know if I can participate in politics any further at this point.
Terrifier 3 (now in theaters)
incredibly unique look Terrifier 3 It has an audience rating of 77% on Rotten Tomatoes, but it has a whopping 94% audience rating, which is very high for a horror movie. I . . . I like scary things (mostly) but I don’t really like horror movies, so I haven’t seen the first two movies. But this is exactly what people should be watching in the lead up to Halloween.
Here’s what’s new. Next, check out the many series currently streaming. I have written about many of them on this blog.
show in progress
Legend of Vox Machina Season 3 (Prime Video)
We’re six episodes in! The Legend of Vox Machina Third season. So far, it’s exactly what I wanted, a hilarious and exciting fantasy that’s far better than Amazon’s other big genre shows. Ring of Power. It’s a lot of fun, and the great cast and great animation make it a must-see in my book. You can check out interviews with the cast here. Three new episodes are available every Thursday on Prime Video.
Franchise (HBO)
Just watched the first episode of HBO’s new comedy series franchise But I enjoyed what I saw, and the cast was great. It’s basically a show about the cast and crew of a big superhero movie, parodying Hollywood and the MCU, but in a decidedly different way than before. The Boys. New episodes will be released on Sundays.
Daryl Dixon Season 2 — The Book of Carol (AMC)
I had moderate expectations for the second season starring Norman Reedus/Melissa McBride. daryl dixon But for now it’s just dragging out all the annoying stuff the walking dead There are so many ridiculous writing choices with every metaphor you can imagine that I have a hard time enjoying them. You can read the review for episode 2 here. New episodes drop on AMC on Sunday.
Agatha All Along (Disney+)
I was anxious for a long time agatha forever Ever since it was announced, even last week, I’ve been wondering if it’s worthy of a successor. wandavision, my favorite (with) loki) Disney+ MCU shows. Well, episode 5 was really good with some really cool characters, so I’m feeling pretty optimistic (and pleasantly surprised) about this witch’s story. Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza are both a lot of fun, which helps. Click here for my thoughts on episode 5. New episodes drop every Wednesday on Disney+.
The Penguin (HBO/Max)
I haven’t written about this show a bit, and I’m actually one episode late, but so far it’s been a really solid gangster series, and really more than that soprano singer than batman (Although comparisons to the HBO classic are often greatly exaggerated;soprano singer is one of the best shows ever made, and not even Colin Farrell’s strong performance can make this show live up to its greatness). You can read my review of the season premiere here. New episodes stream every Sunday.
From Season 3 (MGM+)
I’m enjoying it from It was so much fun that we did something we hadn’t done on any show in a long time. I looked ahead with the screener. I finished episode 3 (my review) and couldn’t stop. So I’ve watched the following few, and although I’ll have to watch each of them again, I can safely say this season is the best one yet. It’s not perfect yet, but Very good. The show follows a group of lost travelers trapped in a nightmarish town as they try to solve its mysteries and survive the many horrors thrown at them. very similar lost However, there are horror elements. I hope it ends better. New episodes will be available to stream on Sundays on MGM+ (although season 1 is available on Prime Video).
Slow Horses Season 4 (Apple TV+)
slow horse Season 4 is finally over. I don’t think I’m alone in saying that British spy dramas are the best ever. Gary Oldman, Jack Lowden, and the rest of the cast truly brought their A-game this season, but so did the writers, producers, and directors. It was a great season. It’s really unfortunate that we have to wait so long for season 5. The six episodes fly by. If you haven’t seen it slow horse Still, please do your best! You can read my review of the truly phenomenal season finale here.
Only Murders in the Building Season 4 (Hulu)
i love Murder inside the building only And I’m sorry I’m a little late in writing about how great season 4 was, but season 4 does a really great job of recapturing the magic of the first. It’s definitely a big improvement from Seasons 2 and 3. This time around, it’s joined by the most star-studded cast ever, including Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, but what really makes it a success is the big mystery. We’re almost at the end, and as much as I’m looking forward to getting answers, I’m also sad that there are only three episodes left. Read my latest review of this season here. New episodes arrive on Hulu on Tuesdays.
Bad Monkey (Apple TV)
bad monkey The first season ended that same night. slow horse Finished the 4th time. Both shows had great finales, so watching them back to back was a bit of an emotional viewing experience. I truly fell in love with this show, and maybe a little bit with Natalie Martinez, who plays Rosa. Vince Vaughn also surprised me with what has become my favorite performance of his. Dodgeball. You can read my review of the season finale here.
I know I don’t always review everything I see, or say I do, but I’ve been pretty decent about everything lately. I’m patting myself, but who cares?
That’s it. Please let me know if I missed anything.
