With all the major announcements for 2024 complete, it’s time to start looking at what 2025 has in store for tech enthusiasts. As is tradition, Samsung is expected to start the new year with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, and if the latest leaks are to be believed, it looks like the company is planning a new color palette for its flagship devices.
Display analyst Ross Young revealed on X (formerly Twitter) the purported color options for the upcoming Galaxy S25 series. Young said the standard Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus models will likely share the same color options, including Moon Night Blue, Silver Shadow, Sparkling Blue, and Sparkling Green.
It’s also possible that the Plus model will get an additional option in Midnight Black that somehow isn’t listed as an option on the base Galaxy S25. These seem to be the default color options for most retailers, but as usual Samsung will likely launch some online exclusives for those ordering directly from the website.
For example, the current Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus models boast standard colors of Onyx Black, Marble Grey, Cobalt Violet, and Amber Yellow, as well as exclusive colors such as Jade Green, Sapphire Blue, and Sandstone Orange.
So, if we compare what has been leaked about the Galaxy S25 series, it is clear that Samsung is making changes, at least in the color naming department. I hope this isn’t Samsung’s way of just repackaging the same shades with fancy names.
Young’s post also confirms another rumor that has been circulating recently regarding the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s color options. Apparently, the Ultra model will be available in Titanium Black, Titanium Blue, Titanium Gray, and Titanium Silver.
These names suggest a continuation of the more conservative approach to colorways seen on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It’s a bit of a shame that the most expensive top-of-the-line Ultra model is always stuck with the least interesting shade.
That being said, we hope the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus deliver some fun in the color department. Leaked renders and images of Galaxy S25 dummy units that are already circulating suggest that there will be no major redesign this time around. But perhaps a fresh batch of colors is exactly what you need to keep buyers interested. Just ask Apple. Apple has been playing this game for years.
