It is reported that the iPhone 17 series will have a new look. If correct, the Pro model will have a noticeably different dynamic island for the first time since the feature’s launch. It looks like at least two of the Pro’s cameras will also undergo changes.
Apple iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. Will the appearance of Dynamic Island change on the iPhone 17 Pro series?
new dynamic island
According to a research note from investment bank Haitong International by analyst Jeff Pu spotted by MacRumors, the new phones will include a “much narrower dynamic island.”
This is the first change to display functionality since it was introduced on the iPhone 14 Pro. This is made possible by Apple’s inclusion of small metalens (so-called metalens) in its Face ID system.
The magic of the Dynamic Island is that it hides the front camera and other sensors by enclosing them in a black diamond shape that can be expanded or contracted to add additional information to the display. Therefore, the smaller the island, the greater the impact. The analyst specified the Pro Max, but I think the Pro has it too.
A better camera is here
Pooh had something else to say. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max receive significant upgrades to their two cameras, the telephoto camera and the front-facing camera to be exact.
Currently, both have sensors with a resolution of 12 megapixels, but Pu claims that the front camera will move to 24 megapixels and the telephoto camera will have a 48 megapixel sensor. . This means that all rear cameras on Pro models will have a resolution of 48 million pixels next year.
More RAM, new chips, same display
There are already reports that the 17 Pro and Pro Max will be the first iPhones with 12GB of RAM, as detailed here. This is up from 8GB for the entire iPhone 16 series, and more than the 6GB for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
The display size is also the same as the current model, with the two Pro models measuring 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches respectively.
Finally, the A19 Pro chip will be the one found in the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, and will use a 3-nanometer process rather than the 2nm technology as some have predicted. This appears to be coming to the iPhone 18 series.
It seems that big changes are coming.
