The long-awaited Android 15 is finally rolling out to Google smartphones beyond the Pixel 9 series.
This means it’s only a matter of time before Samsung users can enjoy it too.
The tech giant took the unusual step of releasing the Pixel 9 series, a new device without a new operating system, in August.
Android 15 is the biggest update in the next 12 months, packed with new features including a new AI-powered theft detection lock.
This new tool automatically locks your phone if a thief takes it, so they can’t raid your bank account while it’s unlocked.
This is welcome, as mobile phone snatchings are on the rise in the UK, with more than 200 mobile phones being stolen every day, or around 78,000 a year.
But the security features don’t end there.
Malicious app blocking acts as an additional line of defense against scammers who use overlays on app icons to appear as other, more legitimate applications.
The new operating system also brings camera upgrades.
For photography enthusiasts, there is a low light boost and in-app camera controls that now work better in low light conditions.
Third-party apps also offer more advanced camera control features, including more precise flash control.
An official list of supported devices has not yet been published by Samsung.
However, here is an unofficial list determined by the number of updates each device has received so far.

Samsung charging tips – the best way to charge
Here’s Samsung’s official advice…
To get the most out of your smartphone battery, you need to charge it properly.
Most smartphones are equipped with lithium-ion batteries, which extend their lifespan when charged regularly.
Unlike the nickel batteries used in older cell phones, lithium-ion batteries work best when kept above 50% charge.
Repeatedly draining your battery completely can shorten its lifespan and reduce its overall capacity.
In these cases, you will need to charge your battery more frequently, and for example, your battery may only last a few hours before needing to be charged.
Leaving the phone connected to the charger while in use (when the phone is fully charged) can shorten battery life if done repeatedly.
