Microsoft has announced the release of the latest Android 12 update for Surface Duo 2.
Here’s what we know
The Surface Duo dual-screen smartphone concept was unpopular due to a number of issues related to ease of use, camera quality, and software.
The Surface Duo 2 received just one operating system update, from Android 11 to Android 12 (including 12L, which is optimized for larger screens).
The 54MB update was spotted by a Reddit user and doesn’t make any major changes. Microsoft previously discontinued support for the original Surface Duo and is now preparing to end support for all models of the product.
The company’s official website states that support for the Surface Duo 2 will end on October 21, 2024. This means that no new software updates may be released.
Despite rumors of a new foldable device, Microsoft has not yet provided any official confirmation.
