Microsoft on Tuesday announced an ambitious expansion of its artificial intelligence tools, introducing GitHub Copilot for Azure and a suite of features for developers that could fundamentally change the way software is built in the AI era. The move represents Microsoft’s boldest attempt yet to dominate the rapidly evolving landscape of AI application development.
At the heart of this announcement is a deceptively simple idea. The idea is to reduce the cognitive burden that developers face when switching between different tools and interfaces. Microsoft’s announcement includes new capabilities for large-scale model evaluation and A/B testing via GitHub Actions, allowing developers to measure metrics like consistency and fluency as part of their deployment workflow.
