TROY, Mich. — A New York man was arrested in Troy last week after allegedly trying to steal an iPhone package while posing as a delivery driver, according to police.
Jose Junior Rosario, 34, was charged with five counts of mail theft and driving without a license. He was jailed on $150,000 bail.
Police said Rosario drove to his home in Troy on Oct. 24 and waited at the scene for several hours wearing a FedEx jacket and hat.

Police said Rosario eventually approached the house where the iPhone package had been dropped off, only to discover that the homeowner had already received the box.
However, police said the homeowner left a Mac Pro laptop on the porch to return, so Rosario took the laptop and drove away.

Police said when an officer stopped Rosario, they found 16 new iPhones and a new iPad still in boxes in the trunk of his car.
Police say the incident is the latest in a string of iPhone package thefts in the Detroit metropolitan area.
A man was arrested last week after posing as an Amazon delivery driver and stealing iPhone packages from homes in Troy and metro Detroit, police said.
According to police, on October 22, West Bloomfield officers stopped a vehicle suspected of being involved in multiple iPhone package thefts and found five iPhones inside.
Police said four people inside the vehicle were arrested in connection with the incident.
Another person was arrested on Oct. 21 in connection with package thefts from Utica, Southfield and Sterling Heights, police said.
Police said the luggage consisted of three tablets and a SIM card.
Police said the suspect was arrested after he was seen stealing packages from a home in Sterling Heights.
