DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — Douglas County authorities are investigating the deaths of two teenagers found with serious gunshot wounds inside a car on West Stewart Mill Road early Saturday morning, Oct. 12. I am doing it. Deputies were initially dispatched to the scene. After an automated iPhone crash detection alert was sent to the Douglas County 911 Center.

Arriving officers found no signs of a collision at the scene. Instead, 17-year-old Beatriz Vega and 19-year-old Roberto Deleon were found in the front seat of the car, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to the hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is currently following up on leads and evaluating evidence to determine the events leading up to the shooting.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact Detective Michael Aziz. maziz@sheriff.douglas.ga.us or call 770-920-3923.
