Starting today, Apple’s new iPad mini 7, powered by the A17 Pro chip, will be available for same-day or next-day pickup at Apple Stores without pre-ordering. Online orders are starting to arrive at your doorstep starting today.
Customers in Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world can now order on Apple’s website or the Apple Store app and arrange for in-store pickup at their local retailer. Apple has not yet updated its online store for customers in the US and Canada, but that will likely change in the next few hours.
To order a product for pickup at an Apple Store, add the product to your bag on Apple.com, proceed to checkout, select the Pick Up option, enter your zip code, and select the available Select your Apple Store location and pickup date. Payment is completed online and may require a valid government-issued photo ID and order number for pickup.
iPad mini is Apple’s smallest tablet device, and the latest model features a slim bezel design, an A17 Pro chip with support for Apple Intelligence features introduced in iPadOS 18.1, a USB-C port, and support for Apple Pencil Pro. Base storage has been doubled, increasing storage on the entry-level iPad mini from 64 GB to 128 GB. 256GB and 512GB options are available as upgrades.
The new iPad mini’s 12MP wide back camera supports Smart HDR 4 and uses machine learning to detect and scan documents within the camera app. The USB-C port also delivers 2x faster wired connectivity than previous generations, increasing data transfer speeds. Up to 10Gbps. The cellular version of iPad mini 7 now supports sub-6GHz 5G and includes Wi-Fi 6E for faster 6GHz connectivity. Bluetooth has been improved to version 5.3, and Apple has replaced nano-SIM slots with eSIM-only connectivity worldwide.
Note that iPad mini models sold in Europe do not ship with a power adapter, but models sold in the US ship with a 20W USB-C adapter.
iPad mini comes in four colors: blue, starlight, purple, and space gray. Prices start at $499 for the 128GB Wi-Fi only model and go up to $799 for the 512GB model. Cellular models can be purchased for an additional $150 to the base price of each configuration. Apple is also selling a new Smart Folio case for the iPad mini in the same color for $59, as well as an Apple Pencil Pro that works with the iPad mini for $129.
