Considering that the latest model, iPad 10.9 (2022), was released in March 2022, the iPad 11 has been delayed. But sadly, previous leaks suggested it would launch sometime in 2024, and now it looks like we’ve won. iPad 11 won’t arrive until 2025.
Despite its age, the current model is one of the best tablets you can buy, but we can’t wait to see what’s next and even have a wishlist for the next tablet. Masu.
The list is further down in this article, but first, we’ll summarize everything we’ve heard so far about the iPad 11’s release date, price, specs, and features.
Back to the main topic
- What is it? The next entry-level iPad
- When did it come out? Probably early 2025
- How much does it cost? Probably around $449 / £499 / AU$749
iPad 11 release date and price
The first iPad 2024 release date leak we heard suggested it would arrive by June 2024, but other information has us hearing that the iPad 11 will launch in March. But apparently neither of those things happened. Additionally, the iPad 11 was not released with the iPad Pro (2024) or iPad Air 6, nor was it subsequently released with the iPhone 16 or iPad mini (2024).
So when will iPad 11 arrive? Well, the only leak currently not outdated in this regard is Mark Garman’s (proven leaker) claim that the iPad 11 will launch in spring 2025, i.e. between late March and late June. .
We don’t know the price of the iPad 2024, but it’s likely to be similar to the iPad 10.9 (2022) starting price of $449 / £499 / AU$749. Again, the price of that tablet was higher than its predecessor, so it’s possible that Apple will raise the price again.
iPad 11 news and leaks
There aren’t many leaks about this tablet yet, but we’ve heard from multiple sources that the iPad 2024 will simply offer a “specs upgrade,” which will likely be a new chipset but the same design and a small update with 10.9. It suggests that. Again – inch screen.
Indeed, given that Apple increased the screen size and changed the design with iPad 10.9 (2022), we expect these points to remain the same in the next model. That means a 10.9-inch screen and an iPad Air-like design are both likely.
However, in line with the leaks above, we believe it will almost certainly feature a new chipset. Or at least a new one – the current iPad uses Apple’s existing A14 Bionic, which is also found in the iPhone 12 line and 2020’s 4th generation iPad Air, so the next model will at least upgrade to the A15 Bionic may be. However, Apple appears to be aiming to support AI. That means it will probably have an A17 Pro or higher.
In fact, we heard from analyst Mark Garman in October 2024 that speed improvements are planned for the iPad 11, but the design will likely remain the same.
It’s also possible that there will be a second model with a different size, although the size may remain at 10.9 inches. A leak shows that two iPad 11 models are in development, but it’s not clear how they will differ.
what we want to see
iPad 10.9 (2022) is great, but it can always be improved, so we hope the new iPad 11 includes changes and upgrades like:
1.Apple Pencil 2 support
One of the more unusual things about iPad 10.9 (2022) is that it supports the original Apple Pencil, rather than the newer Apple Pencil 2. This means you can’t even charge your Apple Pencil, even though you’ve switched to a USB-C port. (Charges via Lightning) without an adapter.
There are reasons for this decision, but overall it seems like a mistake and I hope Apple fixes it in the next model.
2. Prices will fall, or at least they won’t rise.
Apple has significantly increased the price of iPad 10.9 (2022) compared to the previous generation. Considering this is the company’s cheapest tablet product line, we’d ideally like to see the price drop with the next model. But at least I don’t want it to go any higher.
3. Low reflective screen
While we were generally happy with the iPad 10.9 (2022)’s screen, one issue we found in our review was that it lacks an anti-reflective coating, which can cause significant reflections, especially when used outdoors. That’s true.
We don’t expect Apple to switch to a mini-LED or OLED screen or pack in more pixels with the new iPad 11th generation, but we do want it to at least be comfortable to use outdoors. I hope this model does. It has that coating.
4. Additional camera modes
Cameras are rarely a priority for tablets, and the iPad 10.9 (2022) is no different. This is largely fine, but the notable absence of both portrait and cinematic modes is a bummer. So I hope the new iPad 2024 includes these modes.
5. Improved battery life
The iPad 10.9 (2022) actually has a very reasonable battery life, with reviewers getting around 8-10 hours of continuous use. That’s about the same as most other iPads, but considering the MacBook Air (M2, 2022) lasted over 16 hours in our tests, you can be sure your tablet isn’t a million miles from Earth. Now that I think about it, I think Apple could do better. laptop.
Even just a few extra hours can make a big difference and could help the iPad 2024 secure its place among the best iPads, so we hope that’s something Apple focuses on with its next model.
